  1. How old is your daughter? If shes under 14 i wouldnt get one unless you want to do a ton of research. They are not animals to handle and they can actually die from being handled or in not the right temperatures or type of cage. They die from stress not from being held. Depending on species they can be from a few centemeters to about a foot. Its going to eat crickets and you are going to need to spray the cage every day

  2. don't get her one, I had one put it down and haven't seen it since.

hey Tam, your avatar is a cross between mine and bunny's above,

  3. another name for a cameleon is a yemen and i had a cameleon once it really done my heading there to much hastle i gave mine away it cost me £95.00 i  have now got two bearded dragons a sand fire female and a male inlandxsnowhead they are the most loving lizards i have ever met they are like your best friends they are the best lizard to have as they are the most tame and mine have never bite me once they grow up to about 22inches long but half of that is the tail if you log on to www.google.co.uk and just put whats the best lizard to have then you should find the best information there

  4. Ive herd they can get quite nasty when they are handled maybe not the best starter lizard! How about getting a leopard Gecko they are easy to care for and don't mind being handled or Bearded Dragons can be Tamed easily too. Whatever Lizard you decided on make sure you research how to look after them as much as possible google them and go to different pet stores they will be more than happy to help!

  5. Buy an empty tank, and put it in her room. When she complains that there's no chameleon, explain that it's there, but perfectly blended with the background, so she can't see it.

    Much less hassle and expense...

  6. get a bearded dragon, chameleons are really hard to care for. My brardie is a cute female who absolutly loves to be held. The care for them is super easy, and don't cost much. My beardie is like my dog, loves attention. Get a beardie.

  7. Don't do it.

Chameleons are NOT a starter lizard.

Not only do they need specific heat, they need specific humidity.

They also generally cost more because they need specific branches to climb.

And to top it all off - they are not "friendly", quite the opposite in fact.

They aren't even entertaining... the colour change becomes boring very quickly - then they just hide and move at a snails pace.

For a full adult set-up you'd be looking at £300+. Plus £100 for  nice lizard. Then about £6 per week on food...

    Not cheap.

And yes, we're talking bugs. Crickets are the cheapest but they make noise and smell. Everything else is more expensive and even then they are a pain. I spent the morning chasing 200 escaped mini locust around the house after they chewed out of the bag they were being kept in.

  8. A cameilion gets to be 6 inches long depending on the type.

It will eat crickets and other bugs and they cost about $40.00.

    hope i helped a lot.

  9. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameleon

    This should help x

  10. They require VERY specific humidity and lighting. They do NOT handle well and stress can be deadly. I've seen chameleons for 100-300 dollars depending on species. They eat crickets and worms.

The following are website about the care they need

    www.chameleonsonline.com

    www.animalarkshelter.org/cin

    www.kingsnake.com/rockymountain/RMHPag...

  11. i would just google it and read as much info. as you can. They normaly cost around $100 depending on the size it can be more or less.

One very important thing that i think you should know is that chameleon's are very easily stressed out animals! I dont know how old your daughter is, or if she plays lots of loud music, etc. but they are very calm slow moving animals that can become stressed if there are lots of loud noises, rough handling, etc. Sometimes a lot of stress can cause the to die! Make sure you STRESS this to your daughter before you get her one!!!

  12. if you go to www.bitesnstrikes.com they cost £55.
