What are some ways to make the party a low number of cash?

It's her 13th party and she wants to have a big boy-girl dancing party. It will be in our backyard(which is big) and I already have speekers and the DJ booth so we would just have to buy the music. She wants it at night with lanterns everywhere. How many people would be good I'm thinking between 25 and 50. Any other ideas? Thanks I'm trying to make it not so expensive so I can buy her a nice gift without being broke.

I'm not spoiling her I never do this unless it's special occasion and also shes been getting really good grades so I want to reward her. (straight A's and is in advanced classes)

  1. well first of all, check with local organizations IE; Churches, Eagles, American Legion...etc etc etc who might be willing to lend or for a small rental fee you can get the tables and chairs, you can decorate those very easily with throw away clothes and make streamers or bows for the chairs etc etc...you can make your own center pieces (depending on the theme) for the lanterns you can buy at Deals, Dollar tree etc etc reusable lawn tiki torches very very cheap......( me personally I would not want open flames at this age boys mostly and some girls or very immature) I would decorate with Christmas lights suspended on inexpensive bamboo poles you can purchase at hardware stores etc etc...make it a tropical theme...buy cheap grass table skirting....Christmas lights.....blow up decoration from the dollar stores, or the party stores etc...the possibilities are limitless.....have fun....go to your local charity stores like Good Will, Salvation Army, Lighthouse missions...you can find lots of items cheap to use to create your decorations....make it fun and not a chore....as far as the charity...leave that up to her...as her what she is most passionate about......and let her choose more than one....like Saving Animals, or Cancer prevention in young women etc etc....let her make that choice....

  2. party colors should be green and pink the lanterns should be like grass green and the brightest pink there....i had the same thing and there was like 75 kids...all you have to do is find a way to keep an eye on all the kids...!

  3. Light blue & peakock blue look like very pleasant colors...

(tell your dauter she has a cool mom)

  4. give her the money how you "think" she should have, and then tell her, this is her budget, do what ever you want. and make sure she plans everything out

  5. its so nice of you to throw her a party and its nice of her to ask for donations to charity! i can tell youre raising a good kid. to save money, go to a wholesale club, something like bjs if you have it near you. they sell in bulk and it will make buying food nd drink less expensive. also pizza rolls are a good pizza substitiue . this is what they look like http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00032... if you buy them at a wholesale club theyll come in a pakage of like 100 or something. they have like 6 packs of 2-liter soda too. if you have comcast, you dont need to buy music becuase there are a lot of music channels on tv. you just need to hook up some speakers and either stick them outside or in a window. turn up the volume, stick some pizza rolls in the oven and let the party begin.

dont forget to hold a jar near the door to collect donations!

    good luck!

    Happy Birthday to you daughter!

  6. have it in your backyard

it will save u a lot of money

  7. i'd ask her which charity

and i think having the dj already is good, but buying music? no one does that anymore, download, and get her to help choose which tracks, so thats the music free

lanterns? start collecting jars, and get neighbours and relatives to do the same, they are uber cheap to decorate yourself in her colours and place tealights inside, they will burn for hours, hang on long lengths of wire from trees and place out of the way so there are no accidents

food? 13 years old food needs and wants are basic, pizza, chips etc

decorate using paper tablecloths, napkins are cheap

beg or borrow punch bowls, BIG bowls and make fruit punch

    you are good to go

    and dont forget the cake!

she will have a great time
