  1. It probably depends on where you live because different school districts have different age cut-offs.  Call your district or school office and ask them.

  2. I was in Pre-K when I was 4..some kids go when they're 3, some when theyre 5..some dont go at all.

  3. If you are refering to free state Pre K programs. That varies in different states.  If you are in California she may, in Georgia she woun't as she would need to be four on the first day of school.

Generally it is the year before they enter kindergarten and it is determined by the states rules.  Some states set a early December deadline some set a first of the year and in Georgia and other states it is the first day of school.

If you are low income enough to get into a headstart program they can go for 2 years prior to kindergarten.  And some states do allow 2 years in the state preK programs, but it is usually based on availability.  If there were empty spaces after all the four year olds were taken than a three year old could enroll, but this is rare, except in states where there is a low income requirement, or in really bad schools that no one wants to put there child.

By the way I have taught preK for years and I would not be in a rush to send my child.  It is good for parents who don't want to spend the time to teach their child.  But most attentive parents can do just as well if not better at home.  The key is working with your child.  And again that depends on the state you live in. After 15 years of loving to teach.  I refuse to work in any preKs in Georgia because the way they treat the children (sit down, shut up, and put up)it is causing the kids to hate education before they even start.  The teaching style is like night and day and I very quickly learned why Georgia is near last in the nation in Education.

  4. yes just start her at the beging of the year and say that shes 4 or else no

  5. The other people who answered this question were right, it really depends on where you are situated. Based on my personal experience, I did my prep when I was 4.

  6. i would depend on the area that you are in. each school district or school has different regulations on when you can start. i started preschool earlier than others, because i was potty trained. you would need to look around your area...

  7. It depends on the cut-off of the school. It also depends whether she can handle it yet. She should be able to walk, eat, drink, talk, etc. by herself. Note: She does not need to do it very good. She just should be able to do it.

  8. She is eligible now, for 3 year old preschool.
