My daughters 1st birthday is in November and I wanted to plan her party a little early. Therefore it will be an organized event. We will be inviting approx. 10-25 guest including adults and kids. Only problem is that I don't know what the theme should be or what kind of food to serve. But it is going to be held in my backyard or at the park.

  1. Hi, well  congratulations you've made it thus far being a good Mommy..... I think birthday parties are so adorable especially the first... my son is 5 months and I'm already planning his...I just got a magazine in the mail and they really have some cute stuff..... check out 1stWishes.com  also as far as food goes go to kraft.com they have a whole bunch of kid friendly recipes(finger foods)!!! Ohhave a blast planning the party.......

  2. One year old do NOT understand birthdays.  Just have family over and get on with life.

  3. i think a disney princess theme would be nice....like cinderella, or something, or maybe just the colors lime green and pink...

  4. Id say hold it in you backgarden so you can keep an eye on all the children & then head in the house if it gets too cold.

As for food its best to serve finger foods that they can enjoy without help. Small sarnies, crisps, cakes, sausages, sausage rolls, and if the children like fruit then oranges segments, melon & apple slices can go down well. Jelly & a birthday cake.

As for a theme, id keep it simple. I.E, Just invites, banners & table wear. Maybe Fifi, Dora the explorer, Tweenies, Winnie the pooh etc...

For games id play pass the parcell and musical chairs. Otherwise play a childrens CD and let them have the fun. They probably wont want to sit still to play games anyway. Maybe get a bouncy castle??

    Have fun :)

  5. I like the costume party idea...it is very cute and you could bob for apples or have a pinata filled with candy and try pin the tale on the donkey----old fashion type games but you can get the 1st birthday princess stuff with all the tiaras and it is really cute.  You could also do it in whatever her favorite cartoon is...just do it in whatever fits your child.  At one they are too young for organized games like musical chairs and stuff that take .  Just have a place they can play and have some kid music going.  Renting a moonwalk or something like that is a good idea too.  Try getting a cupcake cake rather than a regualr sheetcake.  Bakery do them up really cute now and then you can get the small cake just for your little girl to dig into.  Good luck!

  6. you should have it in your backyard and hire one of these animal trainers and have them bring few animals like monkey, lizard, or any baby farm animals will do, so that should keep the kids and adults occupied while you do your thing and get organized.

    Cons: costly

  7. My daughter is one next week (!) and her party isn't really having a theme, but I am doing decorations in my favorite color purple.  My friend did her daughter's 1 year party with a ladybug theme and it was really cute.  She even found a little dress for the baby to wear with a ladybug on it.

  8. If its close to halloween have a costume party. My birthday is november 1rst and My 1rst birthday party was a halloween party.

if not, have it dora or sesame street themed
