My daughters bunny?

had to be put down today. she doesnt know but she did know it was sick. Problem is, ideally I would pick her up from school and take her for a burger then when we got home gently explain 2 her. However, her friend is coming over and they are meant to be going to guides together. What would u do?

how old is she? just be truthful and tell her the second she's alone. tell her its better off now becuz its not i pain or suffering anymore. good luck!

by the way if she wants one take her to pick a new one when she gets over the death(thats what happened when my friend accidently killed my hamster)

Do NOT tell her before/while her friend is there. You'll put her in a down mood; and she might cry in front of her friends, which is never fun for her.

Tell her after her friend leaves.

maybe you could pull her aside for a moment and explain to her that her bunny was sick and it has been put down (gone to sleep and will never wake up)  justify her feelings  tell her its ok to feel sad and that you will allmiss the bunny i think you should let her know asap though.... what if she goes outside to check on her bunny especially if she knows it has been sick

i would tell her later on very gently around the dinner table. At first I was thinking to simply replace it with a new one so she didn't know, but this would bring up many questions. It would also not be fair not to tell her.
