My daughters dog is visiting - worried about our cat.

Question

Is is okay to have a dog visit our house for an overnight if we have a cat? My wife is afraid that the cat will freak out and never come into the house again.

If the dog is just coming over night don't worry the cat will  return! It will probably be lurking around somewhere outside( if it is an outside cat) and it will know when the dog is gone! Just put it;s food outside, and it will be fine!  If it is an inside cat then of course dog and cat will need to be separated in different rooms! Don't worry about it too much...

keep them separated by letting your cat stay in your bedroom while the visitor is in your home.

THAT is the best solution...  why risk it??

I have heard of large dogs eating small cats.  keep them separated just to be safe.
