  1. id say leave it for a couple of days not to hurt it but just to c if it goes down if id dont then take him to a vet or petshop vets are better as they will treat it but petshops may also have some treatment aswell try both hope it all goes wel

  2. get your next door neighbor to take it to the vet then.

  3. Why can't you bring it to the vet, that's just cruel if it is hurt.

  4. Why can't you take it to the vet is the next door neighbor a vet? Did you steal it? Either way take it to a vet. Black could mean a bruise or that part of the foot has died.

  5. The foot is injured, it may be broken. It needs to go to the vet. If it doesn't get taken care of soon it could die.

  6. honey, hop in ya car and drive to the vet.

    the hamster could either

    a) have a broken foot

    b) have a tumor

or c) something you and ive never heard of.

if it doesnt get treated in the next 2 weeks, it could die. :(

  7. You can still take it to the vet. That is what you should do. If you can't afford the vet, take it to the SPCA or Humane Society. They treat the hamster and find it a home.

  8. take it to the vet duh?

  9. Your daughters hamster has sore foot, it is either caused by an object that was injected in it's foot there for irritating the tissue in the hamsters skin. The red in the foot is obviously blood in side the foot, the black you see is dried blood. It may be a splinter, or other sharp or pointy items.

To find out the cause with out a vet will be quite tricky but heres what you need:

    1. Tweezers

    2. Magnifying Glass

    3. Needle

    4. Cotton Swab

    5. Flour

    6. Cotton Ball

    7. Water

Don't just start operating on your hamster until you have identified the problem accurately, if you jump to conclusions to soon it could cause a serious boo-boo or death. I am a certified vet if you have any more questions feel free to ask me openly. I wish the best of luck for you your daughter and her hamster.

  10. This is the 4th time you've asked this.  Either take it to the vet or take it to the ASPCA.  Having a pet is a responsibility, and you should be teaching your daughter that.  If her food was red, black and swollen (a sign of either a SEVERE infection, or a break, that WILL kill your hamster without treatment.) you'd take her to the doctor no matter what.  Why deny it to the hamster?  Vet visits are rarely over $50 with medication whenever I have to go...
