  1. Sounds like a bunch of BS to me.

If there's something on your background check they don't like will that mean you can't drive them to school & drop them off too?

  2. In my school district they check both. I accepted a school bus driving position and I had to sign over permission for the Police to do a criminal and s*x offender check for the school board.

  3. They usually require a background check if your volunteering at the school.  As long as you don't have any incident with Child Protective Services, or anything dealing with children you will be fine.  Drugs, attempted murder crazy stuff like that will disqualify you.  If it's a misdemeanor you should be fine too.

  4. you should ask... because you have the right to know... all the sources they will use to do the check. you should know in advance what will disqualify you. you should know who will have access to the info.

ask the questions like you are protecting your identity like with your ssn, dl number, credit, etc. treat it like you are applying for credit.

  5. They are basically the same thing and probabilities both are checked.

A background check can reveal complaints made against you and incidents you had with police but no charges were laid. A criminal check reveals convictions.

Having said that, do you think whoever is in charge of this at the school has not seen things like that before? probabilites yes.

If they are professional, whatever comes back should be confidential.

I would suggest going to the school and having an interview with whoever does it, reveal your past and emphasize your need for confidentiality.  I'm sure you will get it and it will be held true.

  6. no theres not, i'm going to guess crank or crack

well when you put a question up and leave out detals it's up to the world to fill in the blanks
