My daughters social security card is lost and i need a new one. how do i get a new one?

i recived my daughters social security card in the mail and i was searching for it so that i can get into section 8 housing and now i can not find it i am afraid that it was stolen or misplaced and i need to apply for a new card. i need to know how and what i need to do to get a new one asap

  1. Simply apply for a lost card at your local social security office.  Take in your daughters birth certificate along with your drivers license and your own social security card.  The local office will have you fill out the request form, issue a temporary card (i.e. computer printout), and then will mail you a replacement card within 3-6 weeks.


  2. Go to the social security office and apply for a new one.  They will likely give you a temporary one until you can get the new one.
