It depends on her age.  Children younger than driver's license age aren't usually required to have ID, although a birth certficiate helps.  If she has a driver's license, she'd need to take that.

If under 16, she can use her driving permit or a birth certificate, but it isn't vital.  If 16 or over, she needs her license or another government issued photo ID.  If she's going international, all she'll need is her passport.  A passport can be used for domestic flights, too.

I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.

Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home.

If she is under 18, and its domestic, no ID is required.
