I noticed my salamander wasn't moving for two days so I opened up the cage and nudged him a few times but he was dead.

I looked at my finger and I thought he was just dirty and dirt got on me but when I flushed him down the toilet I saw the skin where I poked him was gone and I could see his spine...

Insult to injury!

Why did his skin came off like that!? It's skin didn't come off when he was alive!

And idk why he died he was very active and moving all around the cage before...

I had ghost shrimp for him and I was going to go get him mealie worms...

Maybe I handled him too much...

  1. When animals die their flesh decomposes.

So most likely his skin comming off had nothing to do with when he was alive.

  2. omg im sorry to here its died (i was one of the people who tried to help when u got him)

it was probably because it was in the water when it died the skin becomes loose and start to decomp pretty quick.

    sorry for your loss
