My dell is acting weird, how do i know if i got a virus?

when i turn on my computer a bunch of virus scan 2009 stuff pops up suddenly and asks it wants to try to scan for viruses on its own, then when i cancel it, it'll pop up 2 minutes later. then the entire screen image got real big and kinda pixelated then said i had spyware something about monster.exe or something like that... and keeps restarting itself what is wrong with this thing?

Yeah, your doomed. I had it this past weekend... I finally reinstalled XP and all the drivers back onto my laptop Sunday. I through everything I could think of at it. Only would go away partially. It srewed with my start menu, shut off updates, and put virus alert next to my clock., I got tired of it. reinstall
