My dentist says that I need a root canal. The endodontist says that I do not. I am in pain. Now what???

  1. Yeah, it will only buy you time. I got a Root Canal, it's not as bad as you'd think. I was in pain for only a few hours after I go mine.  I say get the Root Canal, then you will not be in anymore pain.


  2. Pain means somthing.....trust your dentist....

  3. if your feeling pain its prbably cause your root has died and needs that root canal. and really they aren't as bad as everybody makes them to be.  

  4. If the endo says you don't need a root canal, what other type of procedure did he recommend?

    If it's a pulpectomy (sp?) - that's only going to buy you some time - you'll end up w/a root canal anyway.

    Go with whichever can get to you first and that says you'll be pain free.


  5. trust your dentist, you have probably been seeing him longer then the specialist. more than likely if you in that much pain you will eventually need the root canal anyways, just do the root canal and get it done so your not in pain anymore
