My derma. gave me Minocycline?

My dermatologist gave the the pill called Minocycline for my mild acne.

Is it effective?

How long will it take to see the results?

Also, why can't i drink milk an hour before or after?

  1. I was on Doxy and they said the same thing about milk (and some other stuff, dairy stuff mainly). It affects the absorption of the medication. You're supposedly not supposed to take a multi-vitamin with it either.

    Edit: If it will be effective depends on the person. Doxy helped me some, I know it's practically cured other people. Just depends on you and what's causing your acne. Same with how long, it just depends. Generally if you don't see an improvement in 6-8 weeks, it's not going to work and you should stop taking it.

    Oh and your acne may get worse for a while before it gets better. Another reason to stick to the 6-8 week thing.


  2. Maybe the lactose conflicts with the meds? Im not sure Ive never been on the drugs this is the best info I can offer
