My desk drawer at work reeks of old lady and absorbed itself into some food i left in there. how do i fix it?

Clean it out and on the bottom put some sheet of fabric softener.  That will help the smell.  Also clean it with lemon scented endust.  If it's wood it won't harm it, it will clean it and make it smell lemony.  Good luck.

Place a box of baking soda in there along with some dryer sheets

You have several options.  You can fill a plastic container with baking soda, borax, talc or activated charcoal and leave it in there for several days to absorb the odor.  You can also put some crumpled newspaper in there as it absorbs odors, too.  You can wipe down the inside with white vinegar and then dry it.  All of these methods remove odors.
