I can press alt+ctr+del to switch the tasks and still work on internet. But why this is happening? Is it a virus or low memory? I still have lot of memory left over and Anti virus is all upto date. manual scans shows no virus. Help me as i find it hard to reboot all the time to get my desktop icons

  1. You can try right clicking and selecting "arrange icons by>" then select "show desktop icons"  If that doesn't work, I'm sorry but I can't help.

  2. sounds like your desktop is damaged...meaning: some system files are corrupt...

what i would suggest you do is this:...get your operating system CD...put it in the drive...boot in safe mode....go to the repair console and try re-installing the files you need to fix the problem....

for example: if it's a Windows XP Home Cd...put it in your drive...boot in safe mode...get into repair console and let it try to fix whatever it finds wrong..
