My desktop layout is now black and no icons?

Question

My computer just started flickering and the internet just closed on me and now there's just a black desktop, no icons, and the word Start isnt on the green button !

What happened how do i fix this?

ok first go reboot and hit the F8 key that will get you into safe mode then go to my computer then go to c drive and right click and then check diks for errors

once that done reboot and see if it restores everything if not repeat the boot with F8 and then go to start all programs accessiories system tools and retore my computer go back a week or so and restore it thta should fix it if it don't  you have more prolbems and you may need to take it somewher but that those first if you have any questions message me and i'll talk yo uthough it

try to restart your computer if that doesnt work then try this

Hit "ctrl alt delete" once only the desktop comes up.

Then "task manager" then "new task"

then type in explorer.exe and hit ok.

if that doesn't work type explorer.

The explorer.exe is not launching. Try to do a restore or reinstall if it doesn't fix it.

Sounds like spyware.

Here:

Click on any of the "download here" icons towards the right.

Once it is downloaded and installed, run the program:

(If it doesn't already run, right click on it's icon in the lower right corner on your task bar, and hit "Run Spybot-S&D")

Then click on "Check for Problems" once the program is running.

And it may bring up some stuff, verify that it doesn't bring up any programs that you don't want deleted.  If there are some you don't want deleted, just un-check it. Then click on "Fix selected problems" or something like that, and restart your computer.  You should be all well from there, hopefully. :)
