Hi there, I was using my desktop computer last night when we had a power outage, The power came back but i didn't try to turn on the PC until this morning. Upon doing so i did not get any response from the PC. I Turn on the start up button, but nothing happen, However the light on the webcam was on. But there were no power when i try to start up. Could it be that the Motherboard got damaged due to the power outage? or what. HELP GUYZ........

  1. hay it could be a few things try to reset the BIOS open the computer and find a coin like battery its going to be located on the motherboard remove it. unplug your computer and press the on button 3 times reinsert the coin battery and plug in your computer. if you have no luck then the mother board could have gotten hit it you get noting i mean 0 response when you start it then you got a zapped power supply.

  2. well try to hold the power for about 10 seconds that will completely reset it. try that

  3. It's either your motherboard that has left to better hunting fields, or, which is more likely, the power supply unit did not survive the power shortage.

If the PSU seems to work (your webcam is powered by USB and seems to be work properly), there is a sliiight chance that the motherboard bios might require rebooting and the system would load normally afterwards. Locate the CMOS reset jumper (or button) on the motherboard, put it in the reset position for a minute or two (while the power chord is plugged out of the PC) and see what happens after you put it back... if the system does not boot... your motherboard, is most likely, KIA.
