My dial tone on my phone doesn't work what can I do?

Hi. I would first check if you have the phone cord plugged into the phone jack. Secondly I would check if handset cord is plugged into the telephone. Third check if the hookswitch is ok by pressing it down and releasing. Also try plugging the telephone set into another phone jack around your house, this will tell you if your original phone jack is defective. If all else fails contact your phone company from a payphone of course ;)
