My digital camra isnt working.. it says "lens error"?

Question

ive had this camra for 2 years!! now all a sudden when i turn it on it says lens error.. i took it to the beach and was thinking maybe its b/c i got some sand in it? but ive taken it to the beach plentyy of times and this has never happend before.

anyone know what might be wrong and how i can fix it?

and plzz.. no one give stupid obvious answers like "oh id take it to the camra shop" no ****!!! ill do that if no one can on here can help first.

Hi.

Well, just because it never got spoilt at the beach before, doesnt mean it wont ever happen :)

Sorry to start with such a statement, but here is what I would do.

Beach has humid weather, and hence, the first thing i would do is, clean the lens and camera connectors with an alcoholic liquid (as it evaporates, there are less chances of liquid getting on the mirror or inside the sensor.

Hopefully, this should make it right, else, well ... you know the obvious answer :)

if you can remove the lens yourself and clean it then do so. if not you will have to take it in for repairs.

it probally has sand in it.. try shaking it lightly and gently tapping it.
