My dilema! I need a Nigerian visa, have an Italian passport, but live in UK.?

I live in the UK but have an Italian passport. I am visiting Italy this summer and then going onto Nigeria from there with my Italian friends. We will stay in Lagos for a few days on route to South Africa.

I need a Nigerian tourist visa. I have looked online (Nigerian High Commission-London) and the visa price for Italians is £217.00. All the other countries around around £10-35.00 so this price seems ridiculous. I have phoned and emailed over the last month but got no responses.

Can I get my visa in Italy instead. Would that work? I am guessing the price would be less (hopefully)

  1. Citizens of Italy residing in United Kingdom have to apply for a visa to Nigeria in person at the nearest consulate of Nigeria in United Kingdom. Please note that the application procedures and fees may vary depending on where you apply.

I do not know where you got the figure of GBP 217,00 from. For my knowledge a visa for UK citizen is US 72,00 = GBP 40,00 and for an Italian citizen USD 20,00.

In case you still carry an Italian passport issued in Italy and you can provide an adress in Italy you also can apply for a visa in Italy. Just if you have been living in the UK that long that you received your passport from your Embassy in the UK, then it's not possible.

    Take care.
