  1. Bob is right, the cheapest way to replace it is to call tech support and have them send you a new one. If you lease it (and it's the offer they will give you immediately) you will only have to pay $19.95 for d/h but you will be required to enter into a commitment with your account when the receiver is activated (18- or 24-month depending on the type of receiver it is).

Other than that, find someone that's selling ther old one that still works. Before you purchase, be sure to call customer support and verify RID numbers to make sure the receiver is not lost/stolen or associated with an account that would prevent activation. Just keep in mind that whatever you pay for the receiver, you'll need to pay an additional $20 for a new smart card (or a smart card, they're the same thing,

  2. best buy or circuit city have them and probably other electronic stores

they're about 70 bucks for a basic one without dvr capabilities

  3. from them!!!!

THE BOX IS LEASED, unless you can prove that you owned the box before they switched to 100% leased system, you cannot buy a box and have them activate it.

The cheapest place to find boxes is flea markets, ebay or dumpster diving... you will need to buy a new smart card.
