  1. Give this a try.  Open the dishwasher and pour white vinigar in it.  This is a wonderful thing to desolve c**p that has stored in it and maybe blocking it from draining.  I use white vinigar in mine every single time I run it.  Not only do my dishes rinse clear, it never smells bad and I never have the problem you are having.

    Heh, it's worth a shot.

  2. No doubt there is a clog in   the outlet line  from the washer to the sink whereby the water is pumped into a drain pipe. You may want to see if there is an obstruction within that line which is only rubber. Remove the clamps and check to see if it's free of any objects that might be causing it. If it's ok then check your strainer which is in the back of the washer  where there is there is a drain that pops right out. See if that maybe clogged also because food can accumulate in that drain stopping the water from going out into the sink.

  3. As mentioned already, it could be the drain line, the air gap, or crud in the filter in the dishwasher.  You might have to clean the filter out manually.  It could also be the pump, belt, timer.... See here for some troubleshooting help:  http://www.repairclinic.com/0088_9_1.asp

  4. Start at the g/d if you have one and work your way back to the d/w. many d/w have check valves in the drain hose and seeds and small things can get caught in that area of the d/w. if you installed a new g/d make sure to remove the plug for the d./w.
