My dishwasher is leaking, and I was told I need a gasket. How do I install one in my dishwasher door?

  1. if your dw is leaking from beneath the door and it's not a big flood but only a small puddle it isn't the door gasket it's a soap build up in the unit you can remedy the problem yourself first run the dw two times with nothing in it no dishes and no soap start it the third time and when it gets to the fill of the main wash cycle open the door which will stop it and pour in 1/2 a quart of white vinegar let it run to the end now you may want to run it one more time if the vinegar smell is still there

    by the way once the dw stops running and enters the dry cycle you can advance it to start again that part of the cycle does not effect the outcome of this procedure changing a door gasket on a dw is a very tuff job so you might want to try this first one other thing while you do this put a towel on the floor under the door it may still leak at least during the first couple of runs


  2. get some home depot guy to come and do it for you. that's what they are there for.
