My disk defragmenter doesn't work all of the sudden?

I just recently got my computer hooked up to the internet. I have windows xp so I had alot of updating to do. Now when I click on my disk defragmenter I get this message. "MMC cannot open the file. This may be because the file doesn't exist, is not an mmc console, or was created by a later version of mmc. This may also be because you don't have sufficient access rights to this file." So yeah does anyone know what I need to do? Thanks...

you may need to reinstal defrag or copy it from the CD

go to start and go to run and then type in cmd

then defrag c:\

if it defrags then it working if not then you need to copy the file off of the XP CD. if you don't have xp cd you can download from micosoft or download.com
