My dockter put me on serquil 100 mgs aday been on this dose for 2 yrs..it dont seem to help me the next day?

Here what you do:

1- Do not think in stopping the drug by your own.

2- Visit your doctor and tell him your complaint . There are many alternatives.

3- understand exactly why you take this drug , for treatment or for prophylaxis.

4- tell your doctor what is your expectations about the drug.

Ultimately, CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR! Be honest about how you're feeling and your concerns. If you've been on the same low dose of 100mg for 2 years and it isn't helping you anymore then you need to either, ask your doctor to up the dosage or ask to try a different medication that will work. With any psych-med, your body will fight the effects to get back to what we call homeostasis-which is the way your body functioned before putting in any foreign substances, such as drugs or meds-therefore the body will naturally adapt to the medication causing it to lose the desired effect a.k.a. hightened tolerence level. My personal suggestion is, unless you've already done this, to have your doctor slowly take you off the seraquil while slowly introducing a different medication. I say this because i know the side effects of seraquil and weight gain is just one of them. I've known scitzophrenics on 400mg and bi-bolars on 100-300mg and they all have the same complaints. But, whatever you do, DO NOT stop taking it abruptly unless directed to do so by your psychiatrist.
