My doctor recommended me to drink Gatorade?

I have tonsillitis and my doctor recommended me to drink

really cold gatorade. What will this do for me? Will it help anything

at all?

The cold liquid will help soothe the throat.  Plus, if you aren't drinking or eating normally due to your throat irritation, then he may be concerned that you are not getting adequate hydration and calories.  Beyond that there really isn't additional benefit.
