My doctor wants me to take abilify and i'm scared looking at all the side effects anyone taking Abilify?

also, it's for bi-polar but he wants me to take it to stabilize my mood! i know everybody is effected differently by medicine but any incouragement out there? PLEASE NO HORROR STORIES!!

I started on it about 2 1/2 or 3 months ago and my appetite has decreased, my moods are more stable and it has increased my energy level so I can accomplish more things than I did before.  I am NOT bipolar, I have major depression, PTSD and dissociative identity disorder.  I was taking Seroquel as an adjunct for depression and needed a higher dose, here I only need an initial dose of 5 mg and it has been amazing!!!  It has become a joke among friends that whenever something gets done that I haven't been accomplishing before we just smile and say "It must be the Abilify!"

Also, remember with side effects they have to list everything that could possibly happen or has ever happened to one person during testing -- which may or may not have been caused by the medication!  Many of the side effects there will be experienced by less than 1/10 of one percent of the people taking the drug, so you don't have to worry!

I am taking abilify and I feel it is something that has really made a difference in my life.  I am bipolar also.  It really helps me calm down and not have as much anxiety.  I really have not felt any of the side effects like I have with other medications.

I started taking it about a month ago and it has given me my life back.  I have not suffered any of the side effects, fortunately.  It did cut my appetite, which I am thankful for LOL  I am bipolar, 30 years!!

I have never taken Abilify,but have known people who have, Many love it,,but with all the new Pych meds make sure your Dr, checks your lipids/caresorial.  I have heard tat it tends to make people more frie

that behavior. I take low dose Seraquil to sleep..after taking it I get very sleeply and HUNGRY. SOOo Hungry I would staggw\er to the Fridge. lol  Try it..watch your eating and blood work. It is costly.
