My doe just had baby rabbits again. When I found them they were all dead..I never even knew she was pregnant. I always checked when I fed her, and she was alright wit my feeling her tummy. We have to separate her from the buck now. Last time she was pegnant, the buck attacked them. One was dead, two were kicked ot he cage (Survived about a week ) and the other didn't live long. She ignored them, so we had to look after the last 2 , who didn't live =[. When I found the newborns yesterday, they looked as though they hadn't been touched. They were very tiny and still covered in slime. She had left them on they're own and wasn't bothered with them. But they were found dead. Why did they die? I think they were only just born, and she never ate the placenta. I'm not sure they died from hunger, coz' I don't think they were born long enough..Help!!

  1. This happened to my Guinea pigs before. The one was alive but very weak and the other was dead the mother did not eat the after birth. It sounds like your rabbit gave birth to dead kits im sorry.

  2. !@! how do I make the swirley?

I cant do it on my laptop.

    Well, I read the post.

if you didnt feel any babies perhaps they were allready dead inside her? did they look fully developed like the last ones or young? It could be a misscarriadge.

  3. If they didnt have a nest box for her to have the babies in then they probably froze to death. They get cold rally fast. If she ignored them then she may just be a bad mother some rabbits just are. Leaving her with a male rabbit is stupid. She would breed all the time and have babies at different stages of life growing inside her. You need to separate them or have the male neutered ASAP. She will be happier and she wont have dead babies. Its really hard to palpate rabbits so thats why you didnt feel anything. You need to do some reasearch if you are really interested in breeding.

  4. I'm sorry, but there are hundreds of thousands of rabbits unwanted in sanctuaries all over the country and you are irresponsibly breeding. Of course she is going to get pregnant if she is in with a male!!

Be a responsible pet owner and get both your rabbits neutered.
