My dog's elbow is swollen.?

A few days ago I was brushing him and he growled when I brushed his right arm. I didn't think anything of it, but a few minutes ago I was petting him and noticed his right elbow is puffy. He is a golden retriever and sheltie mix so he has skin on his elbows, no fur. My mom thinks we should wait a few days or a week and see what happens but my dad thinks we should take him to the vet tomorrow. What should we do?

I would wait a day, and if the swelling increases or stays the same take him to the vet, if it goes down then you don't need to worry about it.
