My dog's hind leg was ran over...?

There's some burns and cuts on her leg, but she lets you touch it, bend it, and puts pressure on it. We've established it is NOT broken. She's limping just a tad, but not bothered by very much. She's going to be going to the clinic for some x-rays just in case.

How come she isn't in more...pain? I mean, she's quite little and only 40lbs and a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck backed up over her hind leg.

Shouldn't it be broken?

  1. well it depends on how bad she got hit. my dog got ran over on her neck but it wasnt broken or hurt or anything and she was a chihuahua weighing like 10lbs. dogs just have i guess used to more pain or pressure then humans do.

  2. it just depends on how much weight from the vehicle was actually applied to her when she was hit-- I work in a clinic and have seen pets make it through with only a scratch-- be thank full she is well and if all looks good will probably only need some pain meds and an antibiotic to make sure the wounds don't get infected.

  3. The nerves in her leg are probably dead, which means if that's the case then she wouldn't be able to feel anything

  4. well u have you considered the fact that it could be an acid burn they are partially numbed by the chemicals and well i guess that is a possibility but im really not sure i would have to look at it  thanks for what ever it is that you did to get on my driend list or what ever but how do i delete it? (my question 2 u in return)
