Question:

My dog a growth that is like a thick spongy feeling on his back near his neck. Are tumors hard or soft??

  1. Please do take him to the vet.  In my experience tumours can be both.  Some have solid feel to it others have been filled with fluid and can be somewhat spongy.  Either way texture is the least important cause is the priority. Hope he is fine!


  2. Tumors can be either hard or soft depending on the type.  If this is an older dog, it's possible it is just a fatty deposit, some dogs get them as they age.  I hope that whatever it is, the vet can figure out what's wrong and soon get him fixed up!  

  3. We have an older dog that gets lipomas or fatty tumors that are not dangerous or malignant, but you are doing the right thing by making the trip to the vet to make sure it's not serious.
