Im going to introduce my ferret to my dogs. I have small dogs, and im not worried that the dogs will hurt the ferret, the only thing im worried about is that my ferret will get fleas from my dogs, who have fleas. Can I use a little bit of my dogs flea medicaine on my ferret o he wont get any, or is there such thing as ferret flea medicane?

If so where can i get it.

Or should i not be worried about my ferret getting fleas?

thanks a lot.

  1. If there is a flea medication for ferrets then it would be at the local petstore or ask your vet for frontline or advantix for your dogs before introducing them together.

  2. Your ferret can get fleas, and they bother them just as much as they bother dogs and cats. The solution? Well it is much easier to get rid of fleas on ferrets than on dogs and cats, because ferrets coats are much thinner. An effective way to get rid of them is to bath the animal regularly, change the bedding and clean its cage often. You can use small amounts of kitten shampoo in warm water... Simple.: )

  3. i would get some Advantage or Frontline on your dog to treat the fleas before introducing your ferret. i would ask your vet about getting some flea medicine used for puppies or kittens under ten pounds for your ferret. but you should treat your dogs for the fleas first.
