She was sick and I took her to the vets but sadly she died 2 days later

She'd had meloxicam suspension previously from the vets but at a lower dose .Was 30mg too much a dose, she was being treated for an eye infection and was having anti-biotics as well I feel so guilty

  1. I'm really sorry for your lose, my dog is on Flexicam suspension which is a similar product.

I'm not being judgemental here but this is a warning for all pet owners please ensure you medications are out of harms way, just like you would with a child.

  2. Things  happen  and  if you did not give them to her on purpose,  it  was just an accident.   If  she  ate  4 tablets  it probably was too much for the weight of your  dog.    Now you have this behind you,  make sure if you bet another dog, keep all medication up and out of her reach.

I am sorry your lost your friend.   Learn from this terrible accident.

  3. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your doggy.

Meloxicam is an anti-inflammatory frequently used for its pain-killer activity.

The side effects associate with long term or excessive use of such medications include:

    - gastric ulcers (triggering sickness and occult blood loss)

    - kidney disease
