the dog's ok, it puked up the leaves. but the plant is just small cutting in a pot. i've only had it a week and a half or so. there were like 8 leaves and now there are only two half-eaten leaves left on it. there are two branches on the cutting with little leave-buds on the end, but they don't seem to be growing. what can i do to save my plant? should i fertilize? if so, what kind of fertilizer? (and i have put the plant up and out of the dogs' reach.)

  1. your dog shouuld be ok if the plant isn't poison but when dogs eat grass and other vegetation its because they might have upset stomach or sick go get him checked out

  2.     You should fertilize. If you live near the beach, fertilize with seaweed. I know that it sounds crazy, but it works. If not, try specialized plant food.  Each plant has special needs. Fig trees need to retain mostrse, so try adding mulch. Contact the manufactuer for additional information.

  3. Do not fertilize. The additional shock will kill it for sure. It has been shocked and will either make it or not. Monitor, and keep static the moisture content in the soil.

  5. It will be fine.  Just water as usual.  We've been growing ficus for almost 30 years and they're very hardy.  As far as the buds, it takes time.  Just, keep the dog away from it for both their sakes.
