Question:

My dog coming indoors?

Hi my name is Kdude! (not really)

I have a 6 month old puppy who is very cute and I love him! I've always heard to never leave your puppy outside all the time and have him come in sometimes. But we have outside dogs but I really want my puppy to come inside in my room just for a little bit everyday. I share a room with my 15 year old brother and I don't know how he would think but he goes to school for several hours. How can I convince my parents and brother that my puppy, Duke, can come inside a little bit everyday? If it smells I would spray air freshener or open the door and air it out. He is pretty well trained in potty training. How can I convince them?

  1. Dogs especially puppy's should not have to spend their entire life outside, that in some cases could be considered animal cruelty, dogs really do not smell, as long as you keep the well groomed and bathe them maybe once every 3 months or so.

Tell your parents that you are responsible for any mess that the puppy would make and that it will be cleaned up right away by you!!

Your puppy needs time indoors with you, you are his master his friend and his leader.

He can't be living a happy life being stuck outside all the time.

Honestly I do not understand why anybody would get a animal just to keep it outside all the time.

  2. Dogs are social animals and it is downright cruel to keep them outside. They want to be with you...not in the back yard. Humans domesticated dogs a long time ago- they are not wild - and therefore they don't "like" being outside for more time than it takes to burn some energy by playing.

  3. Just make sure to point out that theres no harm in Duke coming inside for a little while. Offer to give him a bath ahead of time if the smell bothers them. Promise to clean up any messes he makes, and tell them you'll spray air freshener too. Just make sure to spray the air freshener after Duke goes back outside, because some air fresheners are bad for dogs to breathe in.

  4. I would just tell them that it is only for a little bit and you will watch him the whole time. A good thing to do would be to keep him on a leash so he can't go tearing around the house all of a sudden and you can keep him under control. Good luck! And make sure you are showing your parents that you are responsible. Do your chores etc. when your not told to and they shouldn't not trust you or anything.

  5. I would sneak him in your room, depends how bad you want the pup in with you, i personally would, and i have

  6. Sorry but I don't know your parents or your brother....

If your parents say no, then no.

What breed is your puppy? Some breeds cannot tolerate heat or cold at all outdoors.

  7. It actually is not very good for pups to be outside all day unattended.  Let your parents that your new pup could choke on something.  If your parents are dead set on no dogs in the house you may have a problem.  You could try setting up a play area for your pup.  Keep him contained but in the house.  This way he won't roam free, but you can keep a better eye on him.  You will probably need to assure your parents that you will take good care of him.  Give him a baths and brush him and show you can keep him clean.  Good luck!
