my dog is only 6 years old, but sometimes, she refuses to go on walks, and sometimes, refuses to eat, or even go to the toilet! she is obviously not pregnant, cause she had an operation thing, so does anyone know why she is behaving like this?

  1.   You must remember that though to you your dog is 6 years old, in dog years her actual age is 7X each human year. So your dog is actually 42. She may be experiencing the same physical challenges adult feel when they reach middle age. Perhaps this surgery (if you mean she's been fixed) may have affected her if the procedure wasn't done in her early years (2 or 3 years). I suggest you take her to see a veterinarian. Hope she feels better.

  2. what breed of dog is she? some breeds are naturally lazy. i would have her checked out by a vet if you think its that serious though. she could have a hidden injury.

  3. You should have mentioned the breed.  This would have helped us answer this question better but:-

Most large breed dogs are considered old at 7.  Very old at 10.

Small breeds should be okay until they are around 11.

Your dog should still be walking at six.  I suggest you persist and do not give in to your dogs demands.  Try chicken treats and toys.  Go on shorter walks.  Eating is different but unless your dog is losing a lot of weight do not worry too much. If your dog is not eating the good stuff like chiken etc. take it to a vet!    All dogs will eat the good stuff unless poorly.

  4. she just sounds lazy, my mothers dog is like that and hes around the same age.  If it is out of charachter I would bring her to the vet

  5. I was going to suggest that maybe she is just a lazy dog by nature, but if she's refusing to eat or defecate/urinate, there is definately a problem. To me it almost sounds like a serious urinary tract problem, please take her to a trusted veterinarian, it is the only way you are going to get this problem solved once and for all.

  6. Take her to the vet for a checkup. My cat used to act like that and she ended up having intestinal cancer. That's probably nowhere near the problem for you, but it's important to get your dog checked just in case something is wrong.

  7. take her to the vet shes loosing nutrition and energy. the doctor will probably give you some vitamin tablets for dogs, medicine or they might reccomend a new food brand.
