  1. we used a mixture of white vinegar and sunlight dish soap it worked and its stuff that you may have real handy at home. Its the acetic nature of the vinegar that does the breakdown of the skunk spray

  2. Tomato juice is the best thing to use, don't worry it will wash out. Let her soak for 20-30 minutes then rinse well. You could also try vinegar, but it can burn the skin if she's sensitive. To follow up try using a deodorizing shampoo.

  3. you pretty much have to live with it.Tomato juice doesn't work and the stuff that stores sell just lessens the smell.there really isn't much you can do.Plus for the next six months or so every time your dog gets wet you'll smell skunk.I feel for you.

  4. You can get special cleaning solution from a pet store. The smell will probably linger for a while, but if you bath her right away it will help.

  5. Call your vet. There are shampoos you can purchase designed to take the smell of skunk off your dog. Poor doggie! :( Best wishes to the both of you!

  6. Wash your dog in this recipe.

    1 Qt 3% hydrogen peroxide

    1/4 cup baking soda

    1 tsp. liquid soap

All you need to do is wet down the dog with a hose, mix the ingredients together in a container, and then slowly pour the mixture over the dog while rubbing it into the fur. After the dog has been bathed in this solution rinse it down with the hose and the dog will be odor free. My dog weighs 90 lbs and I needed to double the amounts shown above, but if you have a small to medium size animal, the recipe listed should do just fine.

  7. use tamato juice it works

  8. Use the recipe that KATHY gave you as it TRULY works and I just finished washing my beagle with it the other day as he rolled in a dead skunk. I have also used this remedy on my cocker spaniel when he was alive. If you don't have peroxide you can use vinegar instead. Keep using the mixture on the dog till you don't smell skunk any more. But really make sure you rub it into the dogs fur really well.

  9. i would call the vet for ideas because home recipes can be harm your dogs skin

  10. This happens all the time at work. This may sound crazy...but go to your local grocer and get female vaginal douche. It works....try to stay away from dish detergent....this will dry your dogs skin out badly. Good Luck!
