  1. Ok.. .look for symptoms like restless, panting. Find a room like bathroom where she can have them kidn of quietly.. laundy room even better, no garage. .... as soon as you can get a copy of one of these books

here is my standard cut and paste answer for resoucre information

This is my standard answer and meant for information to get resources to you for your dog. Not meant to offend just to save time!

Okay you don't know if dog is in heat, how often, or what to do, or you think your dog is pregnant or you want to breed, etc. etc. etc. ?

If you are asking this question you MUST read up and have material on hand and if your dog gives birth.

This book is a good one.

YOU NEED to get educated and FAST as pregnancies are only 63 days and it GOES fast.Build a list of three books and go pick them up locally or order from my site which whatever. If your dog is birthing or just given birth it is not to late as the best books deal with care afterwards of mom and pups.

Just get some material to have on hand! Find a mentor in real life someone that has gone through this before.

  2. Be ready! sounds like your going to have some puppies soon. As far as rolling her nipples to see if there is milk that's not good for mama dog. She could end up with infections like mastitis if your not careful. Good luck and if I were you I'd take a nap today cause your going to be up all night!

  3. Please don't check her teats for milk from now nor take her temperature - it's painful when she's so close to birthing! You really should be following her on toilet breaks now as this is the time when she'll lose the 'plug' or her water's break - it's important that you note when this happens! About an hour after her water's break her labour will start, encourage her to use her bed and make sure the house is very quiet and peaceful. Labour can last a while but once the first pup is out then you should expect a pup every hour until birthing has finished. Give her plenty of old, clean blankets or sheets to rip up, painful business this giving birth ha ha and ensure that she has access to clean, cold water, she won't want food until its all over. Hope it all goes well, it's a beautiful sight to see!

  4. You HAVE to follow her around. Dogs that are pregnant are prone to "accidental" births, which mean while she's peeing, she may accidentally birth a puppy and she'll leave it there.

Keep her inside and in her whelping box (which you should have by now!). If she needs to go outside, leash her and follow very closely behind her.

Typically the temperature will flux between 97 and 102 degrees before birth.

Do you know how to properly whelp and care for these puppies? Please, I urge you, if you don't take her to the vet and have a professional birth them.

Also, PLEASE spay your female after she has the puppies.
