  1. Schnoodles.......Schnauzers and Poodles are born with tails .....Vets remove all but about 2-3 inches of a Schnauzers tail  two or three days after birth but it appears that someone tried to remove the tail "at home" and muffed it.

  2. If you can see bone or cartilage, I would think someone just removed too much.  It's easy for people to mess up if they don't know much about how to do it.  I found a stray cat once that someone had tried to bob the tail on, it was horrible.  It was infected and bled alot.  Finally it healed, but when she had a litter, one of her kittens was born without a tail.  It didn't have bone or anything showing. It had no tail whatsoever.  So, it is possible for them to be born without a tail also.  Unless it's showing signs of bothering your dog, or becomes infected; I wouldn't worry about it.

  3.      I would say that either your dog was born without a tail, or since the 3 dog mix you said she could be(cocker, schnauzer  and poodle mix) all have small stubby tails, and it's possible the breeder had it removed.  Some do it thinking it makes the puppy more appealing.

sounds as though you have a great dog though, and just enjoy those body wags!  You could also ask your vet about your dogs lack of a tail.

  4. She could have been born without one or someone could have had it removed.

  5. SOMETIME IT IS HAPPEN FOR GENETIC PROBLEM IF YOU SEE FROM BIRTH.

  6. I have never heard of dogs being born with no tail - just cats - so maybe it was cut too short.

  7. Maybe she is brave and doesn't need to run with her tail tucked between her legs

  8. Sometimes they are born like that.  It is rare, but I have seen tailless puppies born in normally tailed litters.  It usually takes them a little longer to learn how to walk because they have to learn to balance themselves differently than their litter mates do, but they do just fine.

  9. i would say its probably a birth defect

  10. oh its fine

some dogs seriously have no tail none at all!

Sometimes it has been cut off like that!

    But its no big deel!

  11. born with out it.

  12. It could have been any of the above.  Someone could have cropped it and  decided to crop it to the base of the spine like a Pembroke Welsh Corgi,  she could have been born without a tail which could be either genetics or birth defect, or on rare occasions she could have had an injury as a very young puppy that caused it to fall off.      The only concern would be if she was born without a tail the defect or genes that cause taillessness can also sometimes cause spinal problems (not common in dogs but does occasionally occur)

  13. "could it be cut too short, or born without one or a accident?"

Any of these are real possibilities.  Your dog is likely just fine without it.  If born without a tail it is considered a birth defect, but it doesn't affect their health or anything.  I think dogs with little or no tail are so cute when they wag their whole bodies!

    Enjoy your Mollie!

  14. There could be many reason's your dog has no tail. Being born without a tail is not always a birth defect. The vet who docked it could have docked to close. The BYB(that didn't know what he was doing) tied the rubber band around it, tied to close, there may have been a medical reason to dock so closely, or she may have just been blessed to have a very very short stub. There are some breeds that have naturally bobbed tails at birth. Some of those being shorter than their littler mates. My Aussie was born with the shortest of them all. Like you my dog has NO tail. No nub. You can feel where tail bone ends, then there is just a half inch of nub.
