  1. Hi

I live in Tucson and my dog had many issues and one was the same as yours.

I hired Bark Busters to come to my home and help me. Its been two months now and he is doing great! I was doing so many things wrong.

For the crate, I used it to give my dog time out. When he got me mad by eating my shoes, I would crate him. Wrong!

Now I keep the door open, have give him hos food in the crate, also I put one of his toys in the crate. I make it a fun place for him. Its working!

I read some good things about Bark Busters and some bad. The truth ended up being good new about them.

My Trainer never used the Water Bombs or chain. He did explain that they never, ever hit or hurt dogs.

He said many trainers use only positive reinforcement to train. They use both, positive and they correct the dogs mistakes with verbal communication. With really aggressive dogs they may use a bags of water to toss at the dogs feet. The splash gets the dog to focus on the owner not the other dog its trying to bite. Its all about getting the dog to foucs and learn, If hes not focused on you, he's not learning.

They have been great and I know three other friends in Tucson that used them. All of them are very pleased. I was kind of sad to see all the negative feedback about them.

I have a feeling people have a motive that's not being told in the story.

Anyway, your dog can learn to stop biting just like mine has.

My dog also ate my plants and eat my shoes, garbage.

They taught me to Growl at my dog when he did something wrong. When he did the wright thing, we give him high pitch praise. He learned really fast.

If you go to Bark Busters, com they have lots of tips.

    Good luck,

    Anthony in Tucson

  2. You have to let him know you are in charge. You can either do 2 things.

Use an assertive (insert dog name here) No!

    Or

Act as if he has hurt you by letting out a squeal. Puppies let each other know they hurt each other by squealing.

  3. if you make a high pitched noise after he/she bites you everytime they have a reaction which makes them top. Like when  2 dogs fight , they bite untill one yelps then its all over... because the noise stops them.

    hope this helps

  4. My only advice is to not put it in a kennel and treat it as part of the family.  Would you like to be shut in a box every night?  My dog doesn't like them either.  Plus, he's a puppy.  Only a baby.  Yeah, they need to be in kennels sometimes, but once he's fully grown, don't put him in one.  If he nips/bites, tap his nose (a puppy's sensitive spot) and say "NO" in a very firm voice.  Play biting is only a puppy's way of playing, but it's not acceptable anyway, so when he does, stop playing, stand up, and turn away from him, arms folded.  Then he'll know that you're not kidding.  The Boss doesn't want to play anymore.
