Question:

My dog has a blister-like thing...?

I just gave my 9 year old Yorkshire Terrier a bath, and i noticed a bubble on her forhead that looks like the bubbles you get when you burn yourself and it turns into a blister with clear liquid inside... I'm not sure what it is or what caused it!

It doesn't seem to be bothering her though, because she was rubbing her head vigorously on a towel as usual to dry herself off.

Any ideas?

  1. The most important thing is to not let it get infected.  She will probably end up popping it herself, so just keep an eye on it until she does.  Then make sure that it stays clean and free of debris!  If it gets worse, though, definitely consult a vet!

  2. I think i would take your doggy to see the vet. It sounds like its a growth of some sort. To be for sure i would just have it looked at. If it where on our child we would, right, your doggy is your best friend and loves you unconditionally. Good luck to you and your doggy, i will say a good prayer that everything checks out normal. god bless. ,<3

  3. It sounds like a cyst, which is just a little pocket of fluid. The vet can drain it but it will probably just fill back up. Don't do anything to it yourself because you may cause it to become infected. Vets can do this and keep the area sterile. It's most likely harmless and most old dogs get them. But, it never hurts to be on the safe side and have a vet do an exam to make sure it's a cyst. Good luck.

  4. Sounds like the same thing my s**+-tzu gets.  The vet told me they were harmless.  And on my s**+-tzu they usually pop open and the liguid leaves, like a zit.
