She is a german short-haired pointer and she is about 7 years old.

Almost 8. And at first she was just scratching her eye. We didn't really pay any attention to it. But then it got really noticeably red. And she isn't acting the same as she normally does.My dad just lost his job so we are leaving off no income. And only unemployment. So we can't afford a vet. Is there anything to at least make her not so depressed?

  1. You can get a bottle of saline and rinse her eye out. Then apply artificial tear ointment to keep it lubricated. You really should get her to the vet as soon as you can in case she has scratched her cornea or something worse.

  2. She may have and infaction (maybe somthings caught in it.(chack it out) try to rinse it out with cool water and go to the vets office

  3. It is probably allergies. Go to Walgreen's and get her regular benadryl. Give her one pill a day. My dog had allergies this summer he is 75-80 pounds. I was told by my vet to give him up to 2 benadryl (regular strength) pills a day.

Try that and I hope it helps. If not, try going to the human society and see if they can help in some way.

  4. chelsea s, I love the personality of a pointer. They are so sweet.

  5. my dog has that too. it's probably her allergies. you can go to any pet store and buy either allergy or itch medicine to help
