My dog has a red or slightly pinkish streak down the middle of her nose. Its not too vibrant of a color. And its not on her whole nose. But i find it noticeable because you know i am the one who looks at her lots. We put her in a doggy daycare once a week to socialize her etc we went to the same place for dog lessons and was pleased with it. But i noticed the discolorization after picking her up one day. Maybe its a sunburn? allergies? Will it go away? i am wondering what it might be. Is there safe things to put on her nose that might help? I plan on asking the vet next time but in the meantime i am curious.

  1. My dog Nixon, a Husky mix, has the same thing.  It's not sunburn, it's called "snow nose" or "winter nose."  It is simply hypopigmentation.  It is not associated with disease, so nothing to worry about!

  2. Dogs get sunburned too.  She'll just l**k off whatever you put on. Just leave it.
