That caused her a lot of stress. My husband and I thought she was coming around, but now she is using our dining room as her personal bathroom! How can we make her stop doing this?

  1. I'd be interested to know how the dog demonstrated the stress you mention.

She obviously has her nose put out and is doing this as an attention seeking ploy.

To solve the problem first keep her out of the dining room altogether.

The longer you allow her to use this as her lav the harder it will be to break her from the habit and her newly adopted 'place'.

With the arrival of the baby is she getting the same amount of exercise as she once did?

Spend as much time with her as you can-keep her as active as possible- and whilst I don't believe in chastising pets one bit, watch for when she's about to go in the house and forcibly drag the little madam out.

Finally get her out of the habit as you would a puppy.Get her outside as frequently as possible so she has no tanks to empty when indoors

  2. just start form scratch again.  take her outside every hour, confine her out of that room using baby gates or doors, crate her at night, and take up her water at 7 or 8pm.  also in the room she's been using, really give it a good cleaning.

    good luck.

  3. good luck, i had a dog like that once and finally had to get rid of him.  shes jealous.
