Have you tried a muzzle this will help when you are not able to keep an eye on him.

you need to distract him. you can do this by buying chew toys or playing with it obsessively untill it forgets about the bandages

Try buying some "Bitter apple spray" It tastes horrible. It doesn't work on every dog but its worth a try.
