I cannot afford to go to a Vet right now, but I am really worried about my 11 year old small dog. He has these warts that keep getting bigger and spreading. I am so worried he might cancer.

Does anyone else have this problem with their aging dog?

I would appreciate any answer that can ease my mind. My dog is my world.

  1. My dog is like 13 and he has the same thing.  The Vet told us it was normal and it was age related.  I guess just like older people get age spots, dogs can get wart/moles.

  2. Yep, they're common, and caused by a virus. Older dogs have weaker immune systems, and don't fight the virus off as well. After a certain amount of time, his body may start to fight the warts off and they'll stop growing and spreading, but more likely he'll just be bumpy now. I wouildn't worry about cancer unless they are getting very large and/or bleeding.
