  1. White gums are an indication of a low red cell volume in her blood.  I'm sorry, but it is critical for her to see a vet.

Call your local animal shelter to see if they can refer you to a good, reasonably priced vet in your area.  I don't think they would refer you to a bad vet, but the question to ask is "would you take your dog to this vet".

Please get her to a vet as soon as you can - she may need a transfusion.

  2. Generally this is a  sign of dehydration.  Also could be anemic.  Make sure she's getting PLENTY of fresh water and make sure you are feeding her quality food.

  3. Take your dog immediately to the vet. Then tell them you will need to pay them out for services. Then be ready to make small payments as often as you can. Vets are very understanding and don't want your dog to die.

White gums means your dog is low on bloodfor some reason, so you must find out why at the vet's. Please hurry.

    Best of luck.

  4. Pale gums can be a sign of anemia, or shock--meaning she is not getting enough oxygen.   Keep her calm and out of the sun & heat.   No matter what the cause, she does need to see a vet.  Call & see if your vet has Care Credit, that lets you pay off the bill over time.  Good luck.

ADD: To Ty B-- I think you hit it on the nose.  If this person is not a troll, then she needs to get her priorities straight.

  5. She is VERY dehydrated....you HAVE to take her to the VET NOW!!!!

She will more then likely need to be put on fluids and be kept over night...If you have an animals and can not afford what they NEED (this including a vet bill) then you should not be owning one. You need to take her to a rescue and tell them you just don't have the money. They will do whats right for her since you clearly aren't.

SHE NEEDS A VET!!!!   Sorry if you think I'm being rude. But if you don't take your dog to the vet then your letting her suffer!

  6. Pale gums can indicate severe anemia.  Your dog may not live long if she is that anemic and gets no veterinary help.  Do you have a credit card, or does someone in your family have one you could use?  Sometimes vets will allow you to work off the amount of the bill, all or in part.  Call today and ask about it.  Get your dog to the vet, right away.

  7. I would strongly advise you to take her to the vets.  This is most likely serious.  Sometimes you can find vets that work with you, because they understand that a pet is part of your family.  You don't want to loose her, the fix may not be as bad as you may think.  You don't know unless you go.

  8. Well if her gums are white and she doesn't  like to run or exert herself I'd say she may have a problem with her heart. How old is she?Do you perhaps know a nurse or a breeder who has a stethoscope that would at least listen to her heart and see how it sounds.By not taking her to the vet you are risking her life. The choice is yours.Maybe the vet can extend you some credit?

  9. GET HER TO THE VET NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT SOUNDS LIKE HOOK WORMS AND THEY SUCK OUT ALL THERE BLOOD AND SHES GOING TO DIE IF NOT TREATED NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THERE GUMS SHOULD BE PINK NOT WHITE..... MAKE SURE SHES GETTING PLEANTY OF WATER... THE WORMS ATTACK THERE INTESTANTS

  10. She might have a lot of fleas sucking up all her blood.  If she does, go get some Frontline and treat her with it to get rid of the fleas.

  11. Hey people, here's the deal:

1 week ago, this person said their dog was about to have puppies and had a broken leg.  In one post, she said her and her hubby wanted to have children.  In another post, she claimed to be 14.

    THIS IS A TROLL....

The correct answer to the question, in case you actually have a dog, is you should take it to the shelter and surrender it.  If you cannot afford the medical care for an animal, you shouldn't own one.  If you cannot afford a vet, you probably can't afford a pediatrician either, so don't have kids.

  12. THAT'S VERY VERY VERY VERY BAD FOR YOUR DOG  I'M SERIOUS I HAVE 2 DOGS I KNOW WHATS ITS LIKE  I LOVE DOGS SO MUCH

  13. Oh my, white gums in a dog is very serious and she needs to go to the vet.  This is usually a sign of anemia and it can kill your dog.  Go borrow the money from someone and get your dog to the vet.  You could try your local humane society they will sometimes treat your pet for a very minimal cost.  You made a commitment to the dog when you got it to give it proper medical care - claiming now that you can't afford to take it to the vet is not an excuse.  You knew going into pet ownership that vet visits would be necessary so you should have a special fund set up that would handle these situations.

  14. White gums aren't normal.  The gums are a mucous membrane and the color of them is a good indicator of blood perfusion and oxygenation. The normal gum color is pink. White gums can mean poor perfusion, anemia, or shock. Pale, white, blue or yellow gums are cause for concern and you should contact your veterinarian immediately.  Find someone that will accept payments, apply for credit, or pawn stuff, (including your computer).
