My dog is jumping on me and biting ?

My dog is always jumping on me and then he starts biting my clothes and furniture and he wont let go what do you suppose I do

p.s. I have a shih tzu jack russell mix

  1. that's their nature (jack russell dogs).  They are usually hyperactive and can be trained and disciplined to control their jumping and biting.  Or just spank him with a newspaper.  Somehow the newspaper has "something" that scares dogs, or at least makes them a little afraid.


  2.   if it is possible to get a trainer to help then I would do that but you should try to discipline him yourself. If that fails, then try a trainer.

  3. SHOW him whos boss...take him down to his side gently...hold him there until he stops moving and once he stops fighting you...then let him up...

  4. Is he obeidence trained? If he won't do what you ask or command, it is probably because he does not consider you alpha. Get a training book and teach him you are alpha. If you are not above him you are below him.

  5. A very strong "no" has to be in their and grabbing him by the scruff of the neck looking directly into his eyes. Put a real growl into your voice. However as he has been jumping on you for awhile you need to carry a water pistol and a quick squirt to the face (his face !) may get the message across even faster .
