the 2nd time she was not sure. She is suffering from falling down, turning to one side, arching her back, panting, not eating or drinking, at times she is in pain, swollen neck which is on the opposite side of the possible ear infection, she is very weak. I am hand feeding her and giving her water with a dropper. The dr. said it could be an ear infection or vestibular disease or now a mystery disease. She is a 11 year old shihzu. Has anyone else had this problem. She is on antibiotics and a steroid.

  1. Did they do a chest Xray to check for congested heart failure I had a dog with the same symptoms he was 11yrs old

  2. sounds vestibular or neurological from a possible seizure.

  3. I think your vet has taken the appropriate medical action. If it is an ear infection the antibiotics should start working in the next 48 hours and the steroids will help with the inflammation and should start helping in 24 hours. Just keep a close eye on your dog. If you have questions you should be calling your vet not strangers on yahoo!

  4. All I can say is, spend alot of time with her. And all you can do is try other vets.

If she is in too much pain.....I would consider putting her down than having her suffer

    I will pray for her

  5. the meds the vet gave you should work butt if not call the vet
